Longcase by Maple of London, circa 1900's
A quality grandfather clock made of solid oak throughout, in a lovely honey hue.
The case is really solid and of very good sound construction
that will not warp and will easily withstand the passage of time without developing problems
I would date this clock around 1890-1900, so strictly speaking, it is a "reproduction" of earlier models.
The mechanism is german and of great quality, as you would expect from a "reproduction" of this period
The Maple name guarantees that the best materials have been used and
that it has been built to last, as a result it is not likely to give nasty surprises when it comes to being serviced in the future.
This lovely clock would add quality and style to any interior.
It strikes the hours on a gong, producing a very deep sound
DIMENSIONS: Height 2 metres(6' 8'')
Depth 27cm (10 5/8'').
The widest part, at the top, is 54cm (21'').

Jaeger LeCoultre Atmos clock, cal. 526, circa 1956
- Very Good original condition -
A fascinating mechanical clock that does not require winding and it is silent
This is a real vintage Atmos clock, dating from the 50's
The Cal 526 from this period are of excellent,
made with good quality materials, excellent production controls and
traditional old fashoned standards are noticeable... all screws are "blued"
Mechanically, it is in perfect condition and it performs beautifully.
The clock has been fully serviced and thoroughly tested.
The bellow is fine, with the gas at the optimum level.
Even though it was made in the 50's, its performance will be a challenge for any modern Atmos clock
and usually it will last longer between services
Please keep in mind that this clock is about 70 years old,
so even though the case is in very good conditions, in some areas,
the lacquer has somewhat darkened
plus there are other signs of wear on the finish,
but there are absolutely no real damages to the case that spoils the look of the clock.
If you want a good quality vintage model, this is a very good choice

Baloon, French Pendulum Clock, Circa 1900s
- Excellent original Condition -
A most striking Art Nouvau clock in mahogany with boxwood and copper marquetry.
Design inspired by the construction of the Zeppelin, which opened the possibility of passengers flight for this mode of transport and re-invigorated the imagination for hot-air balloons, hence the balloon clock became fashonable again.
It is fairly common to find non-striking balloon clocks with platform escapement, i.e. with a balance wheel, but it is quite rare to come across this type, with a striking pendulum mechanism, such as this one
This is a proper front-wound french clock that strikes on a bell.
It has a "rack" strike mechanism, which means that the strike will not go out of sequence
The case has more depth and height to accomodate the mechanism
which gives this clock its quality feel
The clock has been fully serviced and thoroughly tested.
So mechanically, it is in perfect condition and performs as it should.
To be expected, as this clock is about 120-130 years old,
there are some minor damages to the case and dial, commensurate to its age.
Approx. Dimensions: Hight 32cm x width 18cm x Depth 14cm
12½" x 7" x 5½"
1 year guarantee,
Excellent value at £ 495
French clocks are of excellent quality and probably they are the most undervalued clocks on the market.
